Same fizz. Fewer regrets. If you're reaching for a can of pop every afternoon, raw kombucha scratches the same itch: cold, sparkling and properly refreshing, with a fraction of the sweetness.
Kev spent 10 years on public health campaigns, and the lesson that stuck is this: you don't break a habit by willpower, you swap it. Same time, same fridge, different can. Here's why it works and how to make it stick.
What the science says
Why the swap is worth it
Sugar is the big one, but it's the habit that keeps you reaching for the can.
35gof sugar in a 330ml can of full-sugar cola
30gis the most free sugar UK adults are advised to have in a whole day
66 daysthe average time it took people to form a new daily habit
1
One can can blow the daily sugar limit
UK guidance is no more than 30g of free sugar a day for adults. A single can of full-sugar cola has 35g. Sugary drinks are one of the biggest sources of free sugar in the UK diet.

2
The culture eats the sugar
Kombucha is brewed with sugar, but that's food for the culture, not for you. During fermentation it turns most of the sugar into tangy acids and natural fizz, which is why raw kombucha tastes sharp rather than sickly. It varies by maker, so check the label.
3
Natural fizz, not pumped in
Pop gets its bubbles from carbon dioxide pumped in at the factory. Raw kombucha makes its own during fermentation, which gives a softer, finer fizz.
4
Habits are swapped, not stopped
In a UCL study, people took between 18 and 254 days to make a new daily behaviour automatic, 66 days on average. Doing it at the same time and place every day made it stick faster. Replacing the can is easier than resisting it.

Kev's plan
Make the swap stick
1
Same time, same place
Put the kombucha exactly where the pop used to live. The fridge door is prime real estate.
2
Match the craving
Cola fan? Try ginger and spice. Lemonade or orange? Go fruity or citrus.
3
Pour it in a glass
Over ice, in a proper glass. It feels like a treat, not a compromise.
4
Give it two months
66 days on average to make it automatic. Stock the fridge so you never run out halfway.
Usually much lower than full-sugar pop, but it varies by maker and flavour. The label on each bottle shows exactly how much.
Does it have caffeine?
A little, from the tea it's brewed with. Have it before mid-afternoon if you're sensitive.
Will kids like it?
It's a grown-up taste, with a trace of alcohol and a little caffeine, so we sell it as a drink for adults.
